Urban Design Studio. Social Urban Intervention: Urban design project in Monterrey
Students first had to actively work in the urban context of Monterrey with a social urban intervention. This seeks to generate proposals that facilitate a community life through social contact, strengthening the physic, environmental and social integration of the urban emptyness with the existing urbanization.
Then, students had to rethink and find solutions for a new developed area around the new stadium, which became the new megastructure of the City of Monterrey. Social divisions and segregation, economic inequalities and physical barriers, historical urban developments became the main topics for their urban research.
Questions for Design:
What’s the urban issue you want to work with?
