Leonardo Zuccaro Marchi was invited by Professor David Grahame Shane (GSAPP Columbia University), to participate in the GUD Conference: “Contextualism. Collage City and Beyond.” on January 21, 2025. The other speakers were : Prof. Jin Javier Taira Alonso (University of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria), Prof. Yuqi Zhai (China Academy of Art), Prof. Sameep Padora (Dean Cept University)

The lecture “Disruptive Continuity and Context” aims to illustrate the continuity and complexity of CIAM 8 – Heart of the City Idea, highlighting a brand new perspective in contemporary Urban Design. The lecture will cover retroactive research on continuity and relationship in the post-war Italian and Dutch cultural contexts and some of Zuccaro Marchi’s projective Urban Design proposals. The arduous purpose is to mirror and demonstrate the theoretical research he has carried out on the public realm in urban studies, bridging historical studies and research by design.
